Visa Guidelines is back

Alhamdulillah, I got married to a lovely lady by the name of Sarah and we're enjoying our new phase in life since that momentous day.

And yeah, I graduated from the University of Nottingham and thus, escaping from the evil clutches of my medical school. woot2! probably needs a post on this as well but yeah, maybe later.

at the bottom of this blog, there is an article on visa guidelines for medical students graduated from UK medical schools under MARA scholarship who are planning to work as an FY1 doctor in the UK.

After all, it was my visa guidelines which i made 5 years ago that helped me to get to know a lot of people and for some, have now become my close friends. And it helped a lot of other people as well. So I hope that this guideline would ease your efforts a bit. Visa application is always confusing.

the only exception

So now you know why I was so stressful in the weeks leading up to the resits. In addition to the thought about repeating the whole of Final Year, I also have an additional worry in mind..

via FB

As always, no matter how good our plan is, Allah's plans are the best. Everything went according to the original plan apart from my failures in #FebFinals. The things which happened perfectly include:

1. Sarah passing her Finals

Passing Finals is crazily difficult. Since there are two Final Year Medics involved, the probability of both passing is defo lower. Alhamdulillah, Sarah passed hers on her first attempt.

2. Foundation Year Placement

My ranking of where I want to work

After graduation, medical students trained in the UK have the opportunity to work anywhere that they wish to apply. Me & Sarah linked our application back in October 2013. We put North Western as our first choice. Alhamdulillah, we got it. Then, we had to rank the hospitals and we chose Lancashire Teaching Hospitals and alhamdulillah, we got it as well. Throughout the time of ranking and revelation, I was worried that:

a. Either of us not getting a job
b. Link becomes unbroken (because there's always that possibility) and both of us ended up in different places

But alhamdulillah, we got everything that we wished for.

3. Me passing 4th Year

Because the result was only revealed in January 2014 and if I failed (alhamdulillah I didn't), I lose my elective period and therefore, all the preparation I needed for my wedding.

THE ONLY EXCEPTION was me. I was the only uncertainty left in this story.

Fail again or pass epically.
Repeat the year or graduate.
Remain as a medical student or become a doctor.

Because if I were to fail, I had to repeat the year and the start of Final Year clashes with the wedding dates :O Scary ok, but alhamdulillah..I didn't have to go through that.

It was an unforgettable experience and alhamdulillah, it's all over now...

The fact that I read your blog (which is quite often) makes me a bit surprised that I didn't see this piece of wonderful news anywhere being mentioned until now haha. Hosni texted me yesterday to tell me the good news :D Happy news indeed.. Best wishes and may all things go as planned. My salam to the lucky girl :)
